Apple Job Openings: Apple Moving Things To The Sunshine State?

Apple Job Openings: When most people think about the location of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Cupertino, California is the first thing that comes to mind. While it is true that the company’s headquarters is located here, it is important to note that it has other offices throughout the world.

It appears that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is getting serious about expanding its operations in the Sunshine State. More specifically, according to AppleInsider, “Apple’s hardware development operations are expanding to the Orlando, Fla., area, where the company apparently plans to design, build and test custom chips for future devices.”

Obviously, this is not classified information as anybody can visit the Apple website and search for job openings. That being said, it is interesting to take note of the fact that the company is searching for both hardware and software engineers in this part of the country.

With chip development coming to the state of Florida, it will be interesting to see if Apple Inc. decides to expand into any additional areas as 2013 wears on.

One of the job openings, for exampled, is seeking a model engineer that would specialize in “modeling GPU hardware.” It is thought that these new employees will be working on “Apple’s custom-designed silicon that powers its iOS devices, including the iPhone and iPad.”

Let’s face it: Orlando, Florida is known for many things, however, chip development is not one of them. With that being said, there is a lot of talent in the area. Along with this, the city is growing its tech presence. For example, many people are unaware that AMD has an R&D facility in Orlando.

Additionally, Electronic Arts’ Tiburon game development studio is located in the city.

It is safe to say that nobody is going to confuse Orlando with Silicon Valley. Of course, you should not expect Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to hire just anybody to work in its Orland office. The company is dedicated to hiring the best employee for every job, and it is safe that they will stick with this goal regardless of the location.

If you want to keep an eye on Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) open positions, all you have to do is search the company’s website from time to time. It is amazing how much you can learn about this tech giant by simply seeing which positions they are hiring for.
