Apple Lawsuit Vs Samsung: Apple Gets the Best of Samsung in Japan Court Case

Apple Lawsuit Vs Samsung: Most people are well aware that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung have been slugging it out in court rooms all over the world. From the United States to Australia to Japan and many countries in between, the two tech giants are waging war against one another.

Apple is actually the smart money’s second favorite publicly traded company (see why it’s important to pay attention to hedge fund activity).

A Leading Company Cheaper Than 90% Of Blue Chips... And It Recently Bounced 12%While both sides have had its shares of ups and downs, the most recent round goes to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL).

On Thursday, the Cupertino-based company received a favorable ruling in a lawsuit filed by Samsung.

According to The Times of India, “The Tokyo District Court ruled that Samsung has no rights over data transmission technology used in some of Apple’s iPhone smartphones, said a spokesman for Samsung’s Tokyo office.”

Reuters has covered this story in detail, and offers the following information from Samsung in a prepared statement:

“We are disappointed by today’s court decision. Following a thorough review of the ruling, we will take the measures necessary to protect our intellectual property rights.”

As you can see, Samsung is not too happy with the fact that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) got the best of them this time around. While this is sure to be a big disappointment, in a situation like this neither company can expect to come out on top every time. There are entirely too many court cases for this to happen.

According to AppleInsider, Samsung can take solace in the fact that they have been successful in the courtroom in Japan in the past:

“Samsung did find success in Japan last August when the Tokyo District Court ruled against an Apple patent claim regarding infringement of a property relating to the synchronization of music and video data with off-site servers. That case is currently under appeal with the Intellectual Property High Court in Tokyo.”

As these lawsuits continue to unfold in court rooms all over the world, it is safe to say that we will have more stories. What do you think about Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s success in Japan?
