Apple in UK: Is the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) brand among the most popular in the world? Most people would answer with a resounding yes, and a recent survey by Superbrands proves this to be true.

Apple is the second most popular stock among hedge funds, and the smart money’s top small-cap picks have historically beaten the market by 18 percentage points per year (see a list of most recent stock picks and their returns).

In recent voting, Superbrands found Apple at the top of one list and near the top in another. Before we get to the results, here is what the survey is all about (direct from the company):

“Our annual league tables are based on the opinions of marketing experts, business professionals and thousands of British consumers.

There are two separate surveys: Consumer Superbrands (the UK’s strongest B2C brands) and Business Superbrands (the UK’s strongest B2B brands).”

Apple Inc (AAPL)As you will see, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) finished number one in the Business Superbrands 2013 survey. In the Consumer Superbrands 2013 survey, Rolex edged out the Cupertino-based company.

Despite the fact that this is a UK based service, it is important to note that Apple is holding its own against many of the other biggest brands in the world.

For example, let’s take a closer look at some of its main competitors in the tech space.

In the Business Superbrands category, the one in which Apple finished at the top, Google placed at number three with Microsoft at number eight. Further down the list at number 14 you will find Samsung.

It is an accomplishment for any company to finish in the top 20. That being said, there is a big difference between where Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) finished and where the rest of the pack placed. After all, there is only room for one company at the top.

Here is a brief excerpt from AppleInsider, explaining the survey in greater depth:
