Apple Vs Google: Apple and Google’s Mega-Fight Just Got Worse

Apple Vs Google: Can’t we all just get along? While some people would like to think that everybody can be friends, this is definitely not the case with tech giants Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG).

Rather than make an attempt to settle its differences outside the courtroom through a settlement, Apple and Google are continuing to fight on.

According to U.S. District Judge Robert Scola, as noted by a recent Bloomberg article, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) “are more interested in using litigation as a business strategy than in resolving disputes over the use of patented technology.”

While the companies may think they are doing some good, fighting for what they believe is right, it is safe to say that the judge in the case between Apple and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s Motorola Mobility unit is getting fed up with the shenanigans.

Scola said:

“The parties have no interest in efficiently and expeditiously resolving this dispute; they instead are using this and similar litigation worldwide as a business strategy that appears to have no end. That is not a proper use of this court.”

In other words, Scola feels that the company would rather fight in court than settle because it will benefit the winner, whoever it may be, in some way.

If you have not been keeping up with the courtroom drama, the two companies are accusing one another of “infringing patents related to wireless technology.”

Apple Inc. (AAPL) to be Added to Several WisdomTree ETFsThe case kicked off in 2010 and things are still moving down an ugly path. Of course, this is going to continue with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) fighting for market share in the smartphone arena.

For a better idea of just how serious the case has become and why the judge is furious, take a closer look at the following information from Bloomberg regarding Google and Apple’s “Mortal Kombat” style brawl:

“The case in Florida involves more than 180 claims related to 12 patents and disputes over the meaning of more than 100 terms, Scola said in his order. Cupertino, California-based Apple and Mountain View, California-based Google were unable to streamline the case, he said, calling the companies’ actions “obstreperous and cantankerous conduct.”

The case is Motorola Mobility LLC v. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), 12cv20271, U.S. District Court for the District of Florida (Miami).
