Okay, summer is here and everyone is starting to escape from the cities towards more relaxing destinations. Of course, traditional summer destinations across the globe are always attractive, but still, if you live in the US, there are some pretty amazing places you should check out before deciding to hop on a plane and cross the Atlantic Ocean.

Last week we made a list of the top 10 places to visit in the USA, including traditional touristic attractions and some of the USA’s most charming landscapes. Cities like Washington DC., Los Angeles or Las Vegas are great spots to enjoy the thrill of nightlife, entertainment and shopping. And for nature lovers, places like Mesa Verde National Park, in Colorado, the Niagara Falls, in New York, or the Grand Canyon, in Arizona are some of the top touristic destinations, where you can admire Nature’s greatest work of art.

This time, we were thinking about special places you might have just forgotten were a couple of hours away from your home town, or maybe a few hours away by car, or plane.
