Will Apple Inc. (AAPL), Google Inc (GOOG) End Up Being Friends Forever?

With Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) fighting for market share in so many industries, it is hard to image these two tech giants ever being friends. We have talked about the competition between the two in the past, such as in this piece, and there is reason to believe there will be more of the same in the future.

While most believe that Apple and Google are mortal enemies, it appears that relations between the two are improving. Is there a chance these two companies could eventually partner on a project in the future? We don’t want to go that far, but it is nice to see that things are coming together for the two.

After a recent discussion with Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, Reuters took a closer look at the relationship between Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google right now as well as where things may be headed in the near future.

Over the past year, Schmidt said the two companies have been holding “lots and lots” of meetings. At this point, it is unsure of what these rivals have been discussing, but the fact that they are even getting together is something worth talking about.

Schmidt added that the two companies are in “constant business discussions on a long list of issues.”

It is easy to see that the Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) chairman is doing his best to skirt around the topic, however, he did not keep his mouth closed altogether. He at least came forward to discuss the fact that the search engine giant and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) have been talking about a variety of issues.

Apple created the smartphone market with its iconic iPhone, but Google’s Android mobile software is now featured on three of every four smartphones sold globally.”

Let’s face it: it is only natural for the two companies to stay in touch. They are in many of the same markets and both are headquartered in the United States.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) may never work together on a project, but at least the two companies have opened the line of communications for the potential of this happening down the road.
