Container Store Group Inc (NYSE:TCS) shares have dropped by around 40% in morning trading after the specialty retailer delivered a terrible third quarter results. For the quarter, the company reported a loss of $0.04 per share, missing estimates by $0.09 per share, and revenue of $197.24 million, falling short of sales expectations by $2.4 million. Comparable store sales inched up by 0.5% year-over-year but the company’s consolidated gross margin dropped 70 basis points. Container Store Group Inc (NYSE:TCS) also issued a disappointing guidance for the full fiscal 2015:

“The Company now expects consolidated net sales to be $785 to $795 million based on announced store openings and an expected comparable store sales decline of 1.0% to 1.6%. Net income is now expected to be $0.10 to $0.13 per diluted share based on estimated diluted shares outstanding of 49 million […] This updated full year outlook implies fourth quarter consolidated net sales of $222 to $232 million, a comparable store sales decline of 3% to 5% and net income per diluted share of $0.19 to $0.22.”
