DaVita Inc. (NYSE:DVA) is a dialysis provider headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Not only did the firm beat analyst EPS estimates for its second quarter, but it also raised its earnings guidance for the full year. However, the shares are still rated Hold on average, and the average share price target is $114. The firm’s chief operating officer Michael D. Staffieri bought 20,000 shares worth $1.5 million at an average price of $77.70 in June 2023.

Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway owned 36 million DaVita Inc. (NYSE:DVA) shares for a $3.6 billion stake as of Q2 2023. Along with the firm, 30 out of the 910 hedge funds part of Insider Monkey’s database have also invested in the company, with Berkshire being the largest shareholder as well.

The firm is currently facing a class action lawsuit that accuses it of shutting down the scanners on its printers if they run out of ink. Berkshire Hathaway is one of the biggest insider buyers of HP Inc. (NYSE:HPQ)’s stock, having bought roughly $400 million of shares in April 2022 for an average price of $35.77.

The financial firm’s $3.7 billion stake in HP Inc. (NYSE:HPQ) also makes it the largest investor as of this year’s second quarter. Cumulatively, 46 out of the 910 hedge funds polled by Insider Monkey had also held a stake in the company during the same time period.

3. Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:OXY)

Berkshire Hathaway’s Q2 2023 Investment: $13.1 billion

Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:OXY) is an oil and gas exploration and production company with a global operations base. The firm wooed environmentalists in August when it bought a carbon capture technology developer for a $1.1 billion price tag.

By sifting through 910 hedge funds for their June quarter of 2023 investments, Insider Monkey determined that 73 had bought and invested in the company’s stock. Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:OXY)’s biggest hedge fund shareholder among these was Berkshire Hathaway courtesy of its $13.1 billion stake. While Berkshire purchased hundredsd of millions of dollars of stock in March 2022, the company’s president Ms. Vicki Hollub also bought 14,191 shares for an average price of $56.24 during the same time period.

The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO) is one of Warren Buffett’s oldest investments and he is famous for having said on record that he will never sell the company’s shares. Berkshire Hathaway is naturally the company’s largest investor since it owns a whopping 400 million shares that are worth $24 billion.

Including Berkshire, 61 out of the 910 hedge funds part of Insider Monkey’s second quarter of 2023 survey had invested in The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO). Director Herbert Allen bought $1.9 million worth in shares for an average price of $60.18 in October 2022.

American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) is another age old Warren Buffett investment. He also has a storied past with the company, since the Oracle of Omaha profited massively from its shares after they fell in the 1960s after a scandal cost the firm $180 million in losses. American Express Company (NYSE:AXP)’s director Walter. Joseph Clayton purchased 1,000 shares for an average price of $149.27 in November 2022.

During Q2 2023, 73 out of the 910 hedge funds part of Insider Monkey’s database had bought American Express Company (NYSE:AXP)’s shares. Needless to say, Mr. Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway is the company’s largest shareholder, through its massive $24 billion investment.
