It’s becoming increasingly apparent the Canadian crude will reach the marketplace. That’s great news for upstream producers like Suncor Energy Inc. (USA) (NYSE:SU), Canadian Natural Resource Ltd (USA) (NYSE:CNQ), and Cenovus Energy Inc (USA) (NYSE:CVE). Investors can be confident these names will receive the highest price for their production.
Foolish bottom line
Just as a follow up to my final point, it’s also puzzling how much Keystone dominates the discussion whenever you talk about the investment merits of TransCanada Corporation (USA) (NYSE:TRP). Given the media coverage, you would think the entire future of the company hinges on this one project. But TransCanada has a big portfolio of liquid and natural gas pipelines with lots of other growth opportunities. In fact before Keystone, the company was a sleepy old utility. Investors shouldn’t lose sight of that.
