5. Lotte Corp  

2022 Revenue: $10.62 billion

The Korean conglomerate Lotte Corp. (Lotte) operates several companies through its affiliates and subsidiaries. The four primary sectors of the LOTTE Group are food, retail, chemicals, and tourism/service. LOTTE Food is primarily recognized for its confections and drinks out of the four. The purchase of Guylian, a premium brand of Belgian chocolate, by LOTTE in 2008 marked the company’s successful entry into the international chocolate industry, but it wasn’t the company’s only acquisition. It established a joint venture with the world’s largest food firm, Nestle, in 2014, and bought India’s most well-known ice cream brand, Havmor, in 2017. The top confectionery company in Myanmar, “Mayson,” was acquired by LOTTE in 2014 for a sum of $69.2 million.
