Don’t expect Target Ticket to have a big impact

Overall, investors shouldn’t expect Target Ticket to have a big impact on any company — even Target. The company’s willingness to be innovative might be seen as a sign of good management, but Target Ticket shouldn’t be expected to become a big business for the retailer.

REDcard holders might be inclined to use the service, but there’s no reason for the general population to flock to it. For now, the companies that manufacture the actual streaming devices — Apple and soon Amazon — can favor their own media sales at the expense of competitors, including Target.
