BlackBerry Phone Market: Research In Motion BlackBerry Wants Top Spot in this Market

BlackBerry Phone Market: Most people are well aware of the fact that Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is no longer a dominant force in the smartphone industry. The company has been passed up by the competition in most major markets.

Research in Motion Ltd. (BBRY)With all this in mind, Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is looking to make a comeback in the years to come. The company has a new operating system, and is also releasing devices that are better equipped to compete.

It appears that BBRY is intent on becoming top dog in the Thai mobile phone market within the next three years. This may be a big goal for a company that has been floundering as of late, but if the company is successful in making this happen it would be a huge win.

With the introduction of its new Z10 to the Thai market, BBRY is already moving in the right direction. In the near future, the company plans on releasing additional devices to ensure that every niche of the market is covered.

According to a report by NationMultiMedia.com, out of Thailand, “Benoit Nalin, the first country director for Thailand at BlackBerry, said the firm expected to be the No 1 mobile-phone manufacturer in this market within three years.”

To give Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) a high chance of success, the company plans on joining forces with three local mobile operators as a means of providing special offers to local consumers.

Nalin added, “Thailand is an important country for BlackBerry. It is a big market … We are looking to be No 1 in the Thai mobile market.”

At some point during 2013, the Thai market can expect to have access to the Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) Q10 and BB7.

This is an ambitious goal, but it appears that Nalin and his team are up for the challenge.
