Reddit Rolls Out Enhanced Profile Privacy Controls

On June 3, Reddit Inc. (NYSE:RDDT) introduced new user profile controls, which allow redditors to curate which of their posts and comments are publicly visible. The feature has been rolled out on the iOS, Android, and the web, with a full rollout expected over the coming weeks.

Reddit Rolls Out Enhanced Profile Privacy Controls

Previously, all public posts and comments were automatically displayed on a user’s profile. Now, users can choose to keep all content public, selectively curate what appears, or hide all posts and comments from their profile. Hiding content on a profile does not remove it from the communities it was posted in.

For moderators, full visibility of a user’s posts and comments is maintained for 28 days following any interaction within their subreddit. This access window resets with each new user action in the subreddit. This ensures that moderators have the necessary context for community management, regardless of the chosen privacy settings by a user. The new settings are integrated into existing moderation tools and are accessible for updates.

Reddit Inc. (NYSE:RDDT) operates a digital community internationally. The company’s platform enables users to engage in conversations, explore passions, research new hobbies, exchange goods and services, create new communities & experiences, share laughs, and find belonging.
