Planet Labs PBC (PL) Grows Partnership with Welsh Government to Support Land and Resource Management

Planet Labs PBC (NYSE:PL) has announced a significant contract expansion with the Welsh Government, aiming to enhance its satellite-based monitoring of agriculture, land use, water systems, and emergency response.

The deal includes access to high-resolution SkySat imaging, near-daily PlanetScope satellite data, and analysis-ready Planet Fusion tools.

Under the agreement, all eight universities in Wales will have access to these tools through campus licenses, supporting advanced research and helping shape future government policies.

Since 2020, Wales has been using Planet Labs PBC (NYSE:PL)’s data, and this extended partnership moves beyond trial phases into fully operational monitoring systems. The collaboration is intended to strengthen evidence-based policy-making and contribute to Wales’ long-term environmental and sustainability goals.

Planet Labs PBC (NYSE:PL)’s President and CFO, Ashley Johnson, made the following comment:
