Murray Stahl’s Horizon Asset Management Ups Stake in Dreamworks Animation Skg Inc. (DWA)

In its latest 13G, Murray Stahl‘s Horizon Asset Management has revealed ownership of 11.04 million shares of Dreamworks Animation Skg Inc. (NASDAQ:DWA). The stake amasses 14.53% of the company’s common stock. At the end of the third quarter of 2013, the fund owned around 11.55 million shares of the company.

Dreamworks Animation Skg Inc. (NASDAQ:DWA) will release its fourth quarter and year end results on February 25, 2014, after the market close.

At the end of September 30, 2013, Michael Doheny’s Freshford Capital Management held 1.51 million shares of the company. Glenn Russell Dubin’s Highbridge Capital Management owned 524,118 shares of the company at the end of third quarter of 2013.

According to another filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Horizon Asset Management holds five million shares of AutoNation Inc. (NYSE:AN), which represent 4.4% of all outstanding stock. Previously, the hedge fund was long six million shares of the automotive retailer’s stock.

Also, Horizon Asset Management adjusted their position in Comdisco Holdings Company Inc. (OTCMKTS:CDCO) to 120,000 shares, or 3% of all outstanding stock. Previously, Stahl’s fund had not disclosed any position in the stock.

Stahl founded Horizon Kinetics, the parent company of Horizon Asset Management, in 1985. Previously, he spent 16 years at Bankers Trust Co. as a senior portfolio manager and research analyst.
