Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is cutting the price it sells its Surface tablets to schools by as much as 60 percent, AllThingsD reports. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is selling its $499 Surface RT to schools for the next few months for $199, the $599 Surface RT with Touch Cover for $249, and the $629 Surface RT with Type Cover for $289. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is reportedly sitting on a stockpile of unsold Surface units, having sold only about 900,000 units after ordering as many as a rumored 5 million of the tablets.
