Microsoft Mobile Market: Microsoft – Down, Out, or Neither?

Microsoft Mobile Market: In the tech world, some people look at Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) as a has been. Sure, the company has been solid for many years but investors in today’s day and age are often times looking for the next big thing.

And of course, consumers are not always paying attention to what Microsoft is doing because the company is not out in front in the popular tablet and smartphone markets.

With all that being said, it is not fair to believe that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is down and out. In fact, there are many analysts who believe that investors should take a closer look at the company in the near future.

At this point, there is no denying the fact that Microsoft Corporation is well behind the competition in terms of the mobile market. The company really doesn’t have a device in particular to rely on, despite the fact that it has tried just about everything.

That being said, investors would be best suited to look past this and into the areas of business in which Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has had the most success.

In a recent NBC News article, several analysts weighed in on why they are still holding out hope for Microsoft while others may not be feeling the same way.

UBS analyst Brent Thill had this to say:

“Our ‘buy’ thesis has been predicated on the enterprise business, which is a very strong recurring business at Microsoft.”

Do you agree or disagree with his take on Microsoft’s enterprise business? Although you may not agree with Thill, there are others who do. In the same article, Ed Maguire, an analyst at CLSA, added the following:

“What I think investors are waking up to is the underlying value of enterprise business which has been outgrowing its peers and has a lot of momentum. It’s this combination of software and services that’s really powerful and leading their larger customers to commit to longer-term deals.”

Once again, you have somebody who thinks Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is on the right track thanks to its combination of offerings.

Nobody knows for sure what the mobile device market will look like in the near future, however, it is hard to believe that Microsoft is going to make much of a dent in the immediate future.

However, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is neither down or out. There are analysts and investors out there who will continue to put their trust in this solid company.
