But will McDonald’s be able to get customers to believe that they are friendly and professional, when the current image says otherwise?  That is the pressing issue at hand, and one that we can’t honestly answer right now.  But what we can say is that this isn’t just something that McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) hopes will happen.  They have a plan in place to get quicker and friendlier.  Some new things they are trying are:

1). Analyzing the optimal staff needs for every hour, and boosting the staff where needed.
2). A new ordering system called “dual point” allowing a more personal ordering experience.
3). A new management system where each manager is held responsible for a specific area of service.

Here’s Hoping

We know that image change can be hard to achieve.  But at least in McDonald’s case, the attempt is being made to correct an area that customers have informed them of being a problem.  And McDonald’s is actively addressing the problem with a specific plan.  Whether or not they can win over a customer’s preconceptions of rude and unprofessional employees is yet to be seen.  But it’s definitely a move in the right direction.
