Apple Future Products: When Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) finally gets around to unveiling its next iPhone and iPad, consumers will undoubtedly pay attention. They want to see the new features, as well as how the device stacks up to the competition.
This is all well and good, but there are some who believe that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is missing the point. The Cupertino based company would never scrap its popular smartphone and tablet devices altogether, however, there is a school of thought that it needs to roll out something new.
What this entails nobody knows. Of course, there are a lot of suggestions.
Most popularly, people want to see an iWatch, Apple Inc. television, and a cheaper iPhone. Are any of these in the pipeline? While there are rumors that the company is working on all three products, nobody knows for sure. As always, Cupertino is keeping its thoughts to itself.
In a recent Bloomberg TV segment, Ken Segall, author of “Insanely Simple,” sat down with Tom Keene to discuss the products in the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) pipeline as well as whether or not the company needs to create something new as opposed to spending so much time updating existing devices.
Here is what Segall had to say as the segment got underway:
“I think Apple has an opportunity, with all these expectations for a cheap iPhone, and a bigger iPhone. I go back to the days of the original iPod, the first iteration revolutionized the industry and then they expanded the line with all these different things because a lot of people wanted a lot of different kinds of devices. So I think it would make a lot of sense if later this year Apple came out with a family of iPhones.”
From there, Keene dives in deeper asking what people are expecting from Tim Cook and Apple:
“I think people dream of the big revolution all the time, but I think just as they expanded into the smaller iPad, by popular demand, they saw other people coming out with these things and said hey we can do that better and it is a huge, huge seller for them.”
A lot of people share the same beliefs as Segall. While there is nothing wrong with updating current devices, and this is an absolute must, consumers are waiting for that next big product, similar to the iPod, that is going to revolutionize and industry.
Could it be an Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) watch or television? Many believe these two products have the most potential.
