Shares of Micron Technology Inc. MU, -7.28% are down 3.6% in Thursday trading after analysts at UBS initiated coverage of the stock with a sell rating. The analysts, led by Timothy Arcuri, have a negative view of Micron due to “cyclical memory concerns and big estimate cuts.” Arcuri’s initiated coverage of Micron along with other companies in the semiconductor industry. In general, he wrote: The supply chain has struggled to keep inventory growing anywhere close to revenue growth during the past 4Qs and the entirety of C2017.

SandRidge Energy – Investor Carl Icahn plans to nominate a full slate of board candidates at SandRidge, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. Icahn feels that a strategic review currently being overseen by the board “is likely to be value destructive.” Icahn is the largest shareholder in SandRidge.

Finisar Corporation (NASDAQ:FNSR) (MarketWatch)
Shares of Finisar Corp. FNSR, +6.36% are up 8.2% in Thursday trading after Morgan Stanley analyst Meta Marshall upgraded the stock to overweight and said that Finisar is now at the top of Morgan Stanley’s “optical scorecard.” The stock is on pace to post its biggest percentage gain in two months. “While near term earnings could continue to see pressure due to 100G datacomm component pricing, upcoming catalyst opportunities could change the dialog around the name starting in the 2H,” Marshall wrote.

Conatus Pharmaceuticals Inc. tumbled 32.6 percent to $4.05 after the company disclosed that top-line results from Phase 2b POLT-HCV-SVR trial did not meet its primary endpoint.

Sonoma Pharmaceuticals Inc. shares SNOA, +15.41% surged 30% in premarket trade Thursday, after the company said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved its antimicrobial post-therapy gel. The gel is aimed at treating pain and itch caused by laser therapy procedures, post-microdermabrasion therapy and chemical peels.

AMC Entertainment – AMC will open up to 40 movie theaters in Saudi Arabia over the next five years after striking a new agreement with the kingdom. Saudi Arabia has had a movie theater in more than 35 years.

Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) (TheStreet)
Facebook Inc. (FB) stock was up almost 3% to $159.45 in late morning trading after CEO Mark Zuckerberg addressed the growing Cambridge Analytica issues, as well as new data security problems. Zuckerberg spoke to reporters on a conference call Wednesday afternoon, answering questions about the company’s updated estimate that as many as 87 million users’ data may have been accessed by Cambridge Analytica, and that bad actors likely used other means like the platform’s search and recovery tools to scrape public profile data.
