The company has developed a brain computer interface that allows for neuron signals to be recorded which can be used to treat previously unsolvable CNS conditions. The company was founded in 2016 and has since attracted the attention of numerous high profile investors including Jeff Bezos. Synchron is one of the top companies Jeff Bezos has invested in, in 2022.

On December 15, Synchron announced that it has successfully completed a Series C funding round and has raised $75 million from 17 investors, one of which was Bezos Expeditions. Synchron has raised $125 million in total over 4 funding rounds since inception.
