Is this Apple Inc. (AAPL) Rumor Finally Coming True?

When it comes to the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone, one thing is always going to be true: rumors are never going to die down. No matter what is going on with Cupertino at a given time, there will always be people considering what the company is going to come up with next. This is all part of the territory when you are one of the top tech companies in the world.

Right now, there are quite a few Apple iPhone rumors out there. Some are enough to get people excited while others have been rehashed so many times that nobody takes them seriously any longer.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) to be Added to Several WisdomTree ETFsOne that many are paying attention to is that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will soon roll out an iPhone with a 4.8 inch screen. This is something that people have been calling on for quite some time, and this rumor is not likely to die down until Cupertino actually makes good.

Patently Apple is citing a research note by Citi Research, saying that Cupertino is set to launch an iPhone with a 4.8 inch screen as early as next year.

To some, this is a great move. To others, it doesn’t make any sense. Those who feel that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) should do this sooner rather than later believe this is a good idea because many competitors offer a larger screen.

Here is more from the Patently Apple piece:

“Contrary to Apple’s traditional iPhone events held in September, Citi’s note says that the larger iPhone design is being scheduled to debut in Q1 2014. If the rumor is true, it would mark a new strategic move by Apple to counter the wave of news that traditionally emanates out of the Mobile World Congress tradeshow that is held every February.”

Whether or not Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) decides to do this is still up in the air. Of course, this is not the only iPhone rumor out there. Others are looking for a cheaper smartphone to be announced soon enough, with just as many hoping that Cupertino brings more color to this device.

A rumor is a rumor for a reason. When it comes to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), there will always be rumors floating around. This one is picking up steam, and now that Citi Research has brought it to light who knows what is going to be said next.
