Kindle Fire Vs iPad: Is Amazon Hoping to Crush the Apple iPad?

Kindle Fire Vs iPad: There is no denying the fact that the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad is top dog in the tablet market. If you don’t believe this to be true, take a closer look at this article we published yesterday: An Update on the Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPad Market Share

In this piece, you will see that the iPad accounted for 81 percent of tablet traffic in Canada and the United States during the month of January 2013according to Chitika Insights.

A Leading Company Cheaper Than 90% Of Blue Chips... And It Recently Bounced 12%This firmly places the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad in the lead. But does this mean the tablet is going to stay at the top forever? While the Cupertino-based company hopes so, competitors, including Amazon, have other ideas in mind.

Here is something to keep in mind: in May 2012, the Apple iPad had 95 percent of the market. Now, this number has fallen to 81 percent.

In second place right now is the Amazon Kindle Fire at 7.7 percent.

Amazon is still a long way away, but it is important to note that the company’s tablet is gaining ground. Additionally, they are taking fire at the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad as often as possible.

Most recently, Amazon released a television commercial comparing its Kindle Fire to the iPad. Long story short, the commercial touches on the fact that both tablets have the same features. In the end, however, it shows that the Kindle Fire price is $299 while a similarly equipped iPad is $499.

If you want to watch the video in its entirety, you can do so by visiting this page.

While this ad is a strong play by Amazon, with hopes of gaining more market share in the months to come, it is important to point on some missing details.
