InnovAge Holding Corp. (NASDAQ:INNV) reported fiscal 2026 revenue of $989.7 million on September 8, up 15.9%. Company-defined non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA reached $94.6 million, versus $34.5 million a year earlier. The measure adjusts net income or loss for net interest, investment income, taxes, depreciation and amortization, stock compensation, losses on cost and equity-method investments, and specified legal, transaction, business optimization and asset items.
Adjusted EBITDA margin, the measure divided by revenue, rose to 9.6% from 4.0%. The consolidated GAAP net loss narrowed to $0.7 million from $35.3 million, while the loss attributable to shareholders was $2.5 million.
The recovery is substantial. The investment question is whether better care economics can translate into sustained shareholder earnings.
Bull Case
InnovAge Holding Corp. serves seniors through the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly, or PACE. The model combines medical and social services to help eligible older adults remain in their communities.
Census reached approximately 8,230 participants, up from 7,740. More participants can spread a center’s fixed costs across a larger revenue base, provided staffing and medical spending remain controlled.
Company-defined non-GAAP center-level contribution margin reached $227.8 million, or 23.0% of revenue, versus 18.0% a year earlier. It measures revenue less external provider costs and care costs excluding depreciation and amortization, before sales, marketing, and corporate overhead. The five-percentage-point improvement indicates more revenue remained available to cover those expenses.
The fourth quarter also delivered $9.8 million of consolidated GAAP net income. That strengthens the recovery case beyond the annual adjusted EBITDA increase.
Fiscal 2027 guidance calls for revenue of $1.05 billion to $1.085 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $105 million to $115 million. At the respective midpoints, that implies approximately 7.9% revenue growth, 16.3% adjusted EBITDA growth, and a 10.3% adjusted EBITDA margin. The outlook therefore anticipates further operating leverage, with a smaller margin increase than fiscal 2026 delivered.
Bear Case
The company did not forecast GAAP net income, citing difficulty estimating the adjustments needed to reconcile its adjusted EBITDA outlook.
The earnings reconciliation remains consequential. InnovAge Holding Corp. added back $57.0 million of litigation costs and settlements in fiscal 2026, compared with $19.4 million a year earlier. The category includes accrued losses and paid settlements, so it is not a cash-payment total. Excluding these costs helps isolate operating performance, but resolving legal obligations still matters to shareholder returns.
PACE also places medical-cost risk on the operator. Monthly payments provide recurring revenue, while unexpectedly expensive care can squeeze the amount retained. Medical inflation or reimbursement increases that lag costs could weaken margins even as enrollment grows.
Regulatory compliance adds another constraint. The annual report describes an ongoing corrective action plan tied to the San Bernardino center. Expanding census requires maintaining care standards as well as attracting participants.
Hedge Fund Sentiment
The filings available so far reflect positions held before InnovAge Holding Corp. reported its fiscal 2026 results. Insider Monkey’s database showed 15 hedge funds holding InnovAge Holding Corp. at the end of 2Q2026, unchanged from three months earlier.
Conclusion
InnovAge Holding Corp. has demonstrated improving center economics, and fiscal 2027 guidance points to additional margin expansion. Sustaining the recovery requires those gains to survive medical-cost pressure and legal expenses. Census growth, center-level margins and consistent GAAP profitability will determine whether stronger adjusted earnings become a durable investment case.
