Hewlett Packard Sues Brevard Clerk of Court For Disputed Scanning Contract Payments (BrevardTimes)
Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) Financial Services Company has filed a lawsuit against the Brevard County Clerk of the Circuit Court alleging that the Clerk’s Office has failed “to make its monthly installment payments” of $110,776.00 since November 2012 regarding a $6.1 million loan for digitizing court records. Clerk Scott Ellis said in response to the lawsuit, “The Clerk’s Office did not approach Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) for the loan. BlueGem worked with Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) to put the loan package together to get the Clerk’s Office to sign off. Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) provided the legal opinion to the allegedly independent attorney assessing the loan language of the note.  Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) also arranged for a $200,000 performance bond for the BlueGem scanning contract.

(NYSE:IBM) PowerLinux 7R4 server can be configured with up to four sockets and 32 cores, making it ideal for compute-intensive workloads such as analytics, according to company officials. International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM)’s PowerVM virtualisation software allows a 7R4 server to be partitioned to run Red Hat or SUSE Linux at the same time as the company’s AIX or i operating systems, or both. International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) also announced that Cognos Business Intelligence is now available for Power Systems running Linux, along with DB2, WebSphere and InfoSphere.
