Columbia Threadneedle Global Technology Growth Strategy stated the following regarding Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) in its Q1 2025 investor letter:

“Fellow tech titan Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG), (parent company of Google) fell during the quarter for many of the same reasons that other leading technology stocks declined. Increased uncertainty brought about by shifting global trade policy, along with growing concerns about the sustainability of the AI boom – especially with the threat of new entrants – weighed on Alphabet’s shares. Growing evidence of advertisers pulling back spending due to broader economic uncertainty also contributed to share price weakness.”
