Herc Holdings Inc (HRI): Billionaire Mario Gabelli’s GAMCO Investors Continues to Raise Its Stake

Billionaire Mario Gabelli‘s GAMCO Investors continues to boost its stake in Herc Holdings Inc (NYSE:HRI) as per a newly-amended 13D filing with the SEC, in which it reported holding 3.21 million shares in aggregate with its affiliates, which amass 11.33% of the float. Out of the aggregate amount, GAMCO solely owns 2.36 million shares, which represent 8.35% of the outstanding stock. Previously, the fund and its partners held a total of 2.92 million shares or 10.33% of the float, with GAMCO solely owning 2.27 million of those shares, which accounted for 8.03% of Herc Holdings’ outstanding stock.

Herc Holdings (formerly Hertz) is a holding company that provides professional car rental and leasing services, running in four divisions: US Car Rental, International Car Rental, Worldwide Equipment, and Other Operations. In its financial report for the second quarter of 2016, Her Holdings reported a loss per share of $0.28 and revenue of $380.4 million, compared to earnings per share of $0.35 and revenue of $422.7 million for the same period of 2015. Earlier this month, Morgan Stanley initiated coverage on Herc Holdings’ stock with a price target of $57.
