David Simon

David Simon is chief executive officer and chief investment officer for Twin Capital Management LLC, an event-drive equity hedge fund. Mr. Simon established Twin Capital Management in 1988 and the company won HFMWeek’s Best Merger Arbitrage Fund Award in both 2012 and 2013.  Mr. Simon started his professional career practicing law in the Corporate Departments of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and Rogers & Wells. In 1985 he joined the Risk Arbitrage Department of Spear, Leeds & Kellogg as head of risk arbitrage research, and in 1987 moved to Mercury Securities as head of their risk arbitrage research department. Mr. Simon is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of both Muhlenberg College and the University of Miami Law School, where he also served on the Law Review.  Mr. Simon formed the David Simon Foundation in 2001 which provides funding to charities focused on children and overcoming poverty.

David Simon’s Twin Capital returned around 17.5% annually between 1995 and 2013. It had only one down year: 2002. Twin Capital had $700 million in AUM in early 2014.
