Hackers Leak Data of 88 Million AT&T Users, Reports Hackread

According to Hackread, hackers have released what they claim is AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T)’s database, which was allegedly stolen by the ShinyHunters group in April of last year after they exploited significant security holes in the Snowflake cloud data platform.

According to the report, the threat actor claims that Social Security numbers and dates of birth were initially encrypted but have now been completely decrypted and are part of the compromised data of 88 million AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) customers.

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T)’s wireless division accounts for around 70% of its total income. The company connects 17 million prepaid and 73 million postpaid phone users, making it the third-largest US telecom carrier. Internet access, private networking, security, telephony, and wholesale network capacity are examples of fixed-line enterprise services, which make up around 15% of total income. About 11% of income comes from residential fixed-line services, which mainly provide broadband internet access to 14 million users.

Although AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has 24 million users in Mexico, this market only contributes 3% of the company’s total revenue. The company has decided to sell its partner, the private equity firm TPG, its 70% ownership position in the satellite television provider DirecTV.
