Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Google had suspended new PayPal connections for U.S. users in April, and this change will go into effect on June 13. The firm stated on a support page that Google Wallet accepts debit cards using the PayPal brand.

PayPal spokesperson Taylor Watson said in a statement to The Verge:

“PayPal is constantly evolving our offerings to deliver smart, flexible, and more rewarding ways to pay. At this time, customers looking to use PayPal as a payment method in their Google and Samsung Wallets will need to add their PayPal Debit Mastercard.”

Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Google Wallet, formerly known as Android Pay, was initially supported by PayPal in 2017. Its rival digital wallet is also evolving, with the PayPal app now offering tap-to-pay on iPhones in Germany and a feature that allows groups to pool money.
