Donald Yacktman Latest Moves Involve SYSCO Corporation (SYY)

In its latest filing, Donald Yacktman’s Yacktman Asset Management reported slightly trimming its position in SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY). The fund currently holds 32.10 million shares of the company, which are equal 5.5% of the common stock. Earlier, the fund’s stake in Sysco contained 33.07 million shares.

SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) sells, markets and distributes food products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments and other customers who prepare meals away from home. The company operates 193 distribution facilities serving approximately 425,000 customers.

In addition, Yacktman reported moves in several more companies from its equity portfolio.

The fund disclosed ownership of 62.37 million class A shares of Twenty-First Century Fox Inc. (NASDAQ:FOXA), which represent 6.2% of the stock. The position has been decreased from 70.75 million shares held previously. Twenty-First Century represents one of the largest holdings in Yacktman’s equity portfolio at the end of 2013.

Also, in a separate filing, the fund reported a position in Resource America Inc. (NASDAQ:REXI), representing 4.97% of the company. The fund currently owns 1.51 million shares of the company. In The Clorox Co. (NYSE:CLX), the fund disclosed ownership of 6.14 million shares. The stake amasses 4.7% of the company. Also, the fund reported a position in Apollo Education Group Inc. (NASDAQ:APOL) which amasses 6.6% of the company, and contains 7.46 million shares.

In two other filings, the fund disclosed a position in Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ:TBBK), representing 1.4% of the company, and a 10% stake in f C.R. Bard Inc. (NYSE:BCR). The fund owns 529,745 shares of Bancorp and 7.76 million shares of C.R. Bard respectively.
