Citadel and D.E Shaw Valence Portfolios’ short positions in Alcatel-Lucent $ALU

Citadel and D.E Shaw revealed their short positions in Alcatel-Lucent. This is the first time this year D.E. Shaw shows interest in shorting Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU). According to the latest publication of AMF, David E. Shaw’s hedge fund D.E. Shaw Valence Portfolios, L.L.C.( D. E. Shaw Oculus Portfolios, LLC) is in a net short position of 0.511% of Alcatel-Lucent’s outstanding shares. The filing is dated September 1st 2011.

Another hedge fund, Citadel Global Equities Master Fund, that has been very active in Alcatel-Lucent also continued increasing its short position in Alcatel Lucent by moving from a net short position 0.986% of issued share capital on September 1st 2011 to 1.035% of issued share capital on September 2nd 2011.

Previously we covered Citadel’s transactions in France. Citadel increased its short position in ALU to 0.79% of ALU’s outstanding shares at the beginning of August.
