The day-long event attracted an unprecedented 500 prospective candidates, and provided the opportunity for skilled executives and university graduates in the UAE to meet Cisco career experts and business leaders who are recruiting to fill available positions at all levels within various departments locally. Candidates were able to meet and network with members of Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO)’s UAE leadership team and as well as gather valuable information about available job openings and opportunities within Cisco. They were also able to discuss the latest technology innovations and market trends, as well as the technical and soft skills Cisco is looking for in the UAE.

(NASDAQ:CSCO) predicts that a new product it unveiled on Wednesday will increase its cumulative revenue from core routers, which direct Internet data traffic, by 25 percent – to $10 billion – within the next two years. The leading network equipment maker expects to cash in on ever increasing demand for Internet services with its new CRS-X router, its third in the CRS product series. Since the first CRS router made its debut in 2004, Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) has brought in a total of $8 billion in revenue from the product range, according to Stephen Liu, Cisco’s director of service provider marketing. “The CRS-X is the innovation we need to cross the $10 billion barrier,” Liu told Reuters ahead of the Wednesday announcement.

Cisco turns to rules engine in drive to tackle emerging markets (
Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) is turning to business rules software to help it respond to new market opportunities, changing regulations, and business practices in a more agile way. The company has begun a project that will allow it to extract the rules which govern how it runs its business from a myriad of diverse IT systems, placing them instead into a central “rules engine”. It will give Cisco the ability to respond in a more agile way, as it seeks to establish a presence in rapidly growing emerging markets, said KC Wu, VP of information technology for Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO). “The main driver is to build a very agile enterprise to respond more proactively to any new market opportunity,” she said in an interview with Computer Weekly.

Resourcery Implements Cisco’s Solution for MTN (THISDAY Live)
Resourcery, a Systems Integration Company with presence in Nigeria and other West Africa countries, has partnered Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), to successfully implement Cisco’s Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) for MTN Nigeria. The solution was implemented in twelve major MTN switching sites in four regions across the country. The successful implementation of the project includes the migration from the legacy IP/MPLS solution to a modernised future proof technology. The actual project implementation was completed in six months, according to Resourcery. The solution will enable MTN to easily accommodate new and near future technologies especially in its bid to reduce network congestion.
