And what about the rumors that the iPhone 5 has been subjected to component cuts? This information has been floating around for a few weeks now. Here is what Cook had to say about it, quoted in the same AppleInsider piece:

“I know there have been rumors on order cut. I would think it would be good to question any rumor.”

Thanks to the growing market in China, Apple Inc. (NASDA:AAPL) iPhone sales obliterated the mark set during the same period last year.
