Billionaire Carl Icahn has reported increasing his holdings in his company Icahn Enterprises LP (NASDAQ:IEP) and in Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN). Mr. Icahn revealed holding almost 101.9 million shares of Icahn Enterprises, versus some 100.4 million revealed in its latest 13F. In a second filing, the billionaire revealed acquiring 423,400 shares of Nuance, increasing his position in the company to a total of over 60.7 million shares.
Icahn Enterprises is the largest holding in Mr. Icahn’s equity portfolio, and with the recent increase, he raised his holding to a total of 87.9% of the company’s common stock. At the current price of Icahn Enterprises LP (NASDAQ:IEP)’s stock, the value of Icahn’s stake amounts to $12.7 billion.
Last week, Icahn Enterprises LP (NASDAQ:IEP) entered into an underwriting agreement, under the terms of which it offered for sale 2.0 million depositary units at a price of $135.00 apiece. Underwriters also received the option to purchase an additional 300,000 units at the same price. The proceeds, which are expected to amount to a gross $270 million ($311 million including the overallotment option), the company said in a SEC filing. Icahn Enterprises LP (NASDAQ:IEP) expects to invest the proceeds in one of its nine majority owned operating subsidiaries.
In a second filing, where Icahn revealed raising his exposure to Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN), the billionaire revealed acquiring the shares of the company in three transactions, the average price amounting to $14.12 apiece. Mr. Icahn has been bullish on Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN) for some time, last week he also disclosed adding almost 1.4 million to his stake in the company. Overall, Icahn has raised his stake in Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN) to 60.7 million, from around 52.4 million disclosed in his latest 13F. Currently, the billionaire holds 19.3% of the company’s common stock.
