iPhone Vs Galaxy S4: Can The Apple iPhone Beat Up The Samsung Galaxy S4?

iPhone Vs Galaxy S4: If you were to put the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in the ring against the new Samsung Galaxy S4, which smartphone would come out on top? This may sound like a silly question, but it does allude to the fact that durability and strength are very important to most consumers.

A Leading Company Cheaper Than 90% Of Blue Chips... And It Recently Bounced 12%SquareTrade, one of the top mobile device insurance firms in the world, is well known for testing the durability of many devices. Recently, the company took the time to give the Galaxy S4 a closer look. And of course, along the way, they compared it to the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone.

When shopping for a smartphone, many people overlook the fact that durability is a big deal. How many times you have dropped your phone on the ground in the past? How many friends of yours have an Apple iPhone or other device with a cracked screen, for example? You know who you are!

In the video, you will see that SquareTrade put the phones through the ringer. In addition to the new S4 and the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone, the guys added in the Galaxy S3. This gives consumers a better idea of whether or not the new offering from Samsung is actually an upgrade in the durability department.

While we don’t want to spoil the entire video for you, the tests are quite interesting and definitely pertain to everyday life.

For example, all three smartphones were immersed in water, while playing music, for roughly 10 seconds. At that point, the devices were removed.

The results: the Samsung Galaxy S3 lost all audio. However, the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 5 and Galaxy S4 held onto its ability to play the music – even after spending a good amount of time in the water.

If you want to read more about what SquareTrade had to say, you can do so on the company’s official blog. However, this is what you really need to know:

“While the S4 proved slightly more water resistant than its predecessor the S3, Samsung’s new Galaxy phone actually performed worse in most other categories. Major strikes against the S4 include high breakability during SquareTrade Drop Tests, a slippery back panel, and a wider screen that reduces grip-ability, especially compared to the ultra-slim iPhone 5. Breakability Score: 7.”

The Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone scored better overall than both Samsung models. Additionally, it appears that the S4 has some major durability concerns.

Of course, you can see the tests and results for yourself by watching the video on the next page in its entirety:
