BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) Wins a $1.5 Billion Contract from the National Nuclear Security Administration

On September 16, 2025, BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:BWXT) won a $1.5 billion contract from the National Nuclear Security Administration to create domestic uranium enrichment capabilities for defense.

The award tasks BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:BWXT) with building the Domestic Uranium Enrichment Centrifuge Experiment (DUECE) pilot plant at its Nuclear Fuel Services facility in Erwin, Tennessee. The plant will first produce low-enriched uranium before being converted to generate highly enriched uranium for naval propulsion.

To support this, BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:BWXT) has already begun building its Centrifuge Manufacturing Development Facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The company’s extensive history in US nuclear defense programs, consistent revenue growth, and strong financial health support its ability to deliver.
