Billionaire Noam Gottesman Is Betting on These Stocks

In its latest 13F, Noam Gottesman‘s Glg Partners, has disclosed its holdings as held at the end of the fourth quarter of 2013. The total value of the fund’s equity portfolio went up to around $1.44 billion in the fourth quarter, from about $1.09 billion at the end of September.We have picked Glg Partners’ top five holdings in terms of value that the fund revealed in its equity portfolio as at the end of last year.

Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB)

The first on the list is Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), in which the fund owns 743,775 shares, with a reported value of $40.66 million. The holding was increased from 664,104 shares held at the end of the third quarter of 2013.

In Discover Financial Services (NYSE:DFS), a direct banking and payment services company, Glg’s position was boosted to 535,941 shares, from 433,167 shares held in the previous quarter. The value of the current holding amounts to $29.99 million.

On the third spot is Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), where the fund upped its stake to 50,601 shares, worth $28.39 million, from 37,953 shares held at the end of the third quarter.

The next on the list is Visa Inc (NYSE:V), in which Glg Partners raised its stake to 127,078 shares from 92,443 shares held in the previous quarter. The value of the holding increased to $28.29 million, from $17.67 million.

Splunk Inc (NASDAQ:SPLK) is the fifth most valuable holding of Glg Partners, in which the fund revealed owning 357,725 shares at the end of the fourth quarter, with a reported value of $24.57 million. The fund held 297,817 shares at the end of the previous quarter.

Moreover, the fund added some new positions to its equity portfolio in the fourth quarter, CME Group Inc (NASDAQ:CME) was amongst them, of which the fund owns 147,647 shares, worth $11.58 million. PVR Partners LP (NYSE:PVR) was also added to Glg’s equity portfolio during the fourth quarter, and the fund revealed owning 338,627 shares, with a reported value of $9.09 million.

The fund sold out its stake in Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ:BRCM), a semiconductor solution for wired and wireless communications, previously holding 298,400 shares.
