Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI) is one of the 8 Dirt Cheap Stocks to Buy With $1000 Right Now. On March 24, Citi analyst Asiya Merchant reduced the firm’s price target on Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI) from $39 to $25 while keeping a Neutral rating. The price target revision reflects rising concerns around the company’s risk profile.

According to the firm, the allegations involving three individuals linked to Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI), including its co-founder, have increased concerns about the company’s reputation. The issue is linked to the alleged smuggling of servers equipped with Nvidia’s processors, raising questions about compliance with export rules.
Analyst Asiya Merchant stated:
“While the allegations target individuals, we expect elevated customer diligence and tighter supplier guardrails, which may lead to some suppliers restricting components and competitive losses. We believe this warrants a lower valuation until there is more visibility on the path forward and indications of unaffected customer/supplier confidence in the company.”
She highlighted that these developments create more uncertainty around the company’s outlook. As a result, the firm believes that the stock should trade at a lower valuation until there is better clarity on the company’s future direction.
In addition to Citi, Bank of America also cut its price target on Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI) from $34 to $24 while reaffirming an Underperform rating on March 23. The firm said the allegations against co-founder Wally Liaw could damage the company’s reputation. It added that it may lead to suppliers tightening access to components, increased regulatory scrutiny, and customers delaying or reducing orders.
