Archer Aviation (ACHR) is increasingly being viewed as more than just a flying taxi company, with recent developments pointing toward a potential defense and military role. The turning point came on June 6, 2025, when President Trump signed an executive order to accelerate drone and eVTOL integration into U.S. airspace, with Section 6 outlining a pilot program that directly benefits Archer. The Department of Transportation must propose at least five pilot projects by early September, with selections expected in December, and Archer is seen as a frontrunner given CEO Adam Goldstein’s repeated visits to the White House.

The company is also building visibility through upcoming events, including the Needham Transportation Technology Conference on September 3, Deutsche Bank’s Aviation Forum on September 4, and the Dubai AirShow in November, where Archer expects to fly its Midnight aircraft publicly. Beyond commercial aviation, Archer’s partnership with Anduril suggests a classified military collaboration, supported by recent job postings for VTOL test pilots and new trademarks such as Monarch, Giraffa, and Mothra, which could be tied to military applications.

The strategic acquisition of Overair further strengthens Archer’s position as the top revenue-generating eVTOL company, while a property acquisition near Anduril’s offices hints at deepening defense ties. Additional catalysts include anticipated operations in Abu Dhabi by late 2025 and potential aircraft sales. With growing connections to Palantir and the defense ecosystem, ACHR is transitioning from a speculative growth play to a company with tangible strategic and military upside. Investors increasingly see its trajectory as a matter of “when,” not “if.”

Previously we covered a bullish thesis on Archer Aviation Inc. (ACHR) by Xtianus25 in January 2025, which highlighted certification milestones, pilot demonstrations, and Middle Eastern partnerships. The company’s stock has depreciated about 9% since then as progress was slower than expected. The thesis still stands as Archer advances toward certification, while I_killed_the_kraken shares a similar view but emphasizes military collaborations.
