Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has recently launched its much hyped Apple Watch and expectations galore that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is going to launch updated version of its Apple TV in June. In addition to these products Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is also trying to establish its payment business. But Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is not done yet and are planning to launch its Home kit devices in June. Apple has launched its Home Kit almost a year ago and is planning to launch Home kit devices in June. What is the advantage of these Home kit devices? Internationa Business Times Tech Reporter, Abigail Elise talked on CNBC about Apple’s Home kit devices and its advantages.
Are Apple’s Home kit devices going to be a big hit among consumers? Elise thinks that the Home kit devices technology is very new and she feels that it might take more time for people to get used to it before the technology starts getting into people’s homes.
“I believe with any new type of disruptive technology, something in your home that’s controlling your lighting, the temperature, it could water your plants, when you feed your pets. It probably is going to take some time for people to adjust to this new idea and have something that’s controlling virtually everything that’s taking place in your house. I think smart home technology is going to be big, I am just not sure if its going to be very very soon,” Elise said.
But what does the smart devices for home mean? Elise mentioned that people have been trying to implement the smart home devices since 1960. But she believes that the current scenario is more apt for its implementation with the smartphones (iPhones) and tablets (iPads) around. She pointed out that there are already smart locks available and Nest can control the home temperature in an automated way and she added that there are things that can automatically water the plants and feed the pets. She said that there are devices that are small and inexpensive to do the above mentioned stuffs.
Apple often hype up its products like iPhones, Tablets, Smartwatches before the launch. But Why has Apple not hyped up the Apple Home Kit devices like its other products? Elise feels that the technology is very new that people are not motivated enough to go to the Apple store to check out the Home kit devices like they do for other products like Apple Watch and iPhones.
