David Ferrer iPhone: Apple – Star Shows His Love By Mistake

David Ferrer iPhone: It is no secret at this point that Samsung is Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s number one competitor in the smartphone space. These two companies are slugging it out for the top spot in markets all over the world.

Tim CookWith this in mind, it is only natural for people, celebrities and athletes included, to take sides. Some have fallen in love with the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone while others rely more heavily on Samsung. As you can imagine, things are heating up even more with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S4.

But what happens when a so-called Samsung fan makes an error when showing his love for the company? Well, this is exactly what happened to super popular tennis star David Ferrer.

With the Mutua Madrid Open tennis tournament set to get started this weekend, one of its sponsors, Samsung, is quite excited about its new product. And of course, this means showing the world what the phone has to offer. However, it looks like the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone was the device that stole the show.

While sending out a Tweet that said he was “”configuring S Health on my new #GalaxyS4 to help with training @SamsungMobile,” Ferrer made a big mistake. He didn’t notice that he was actually sending it from his Apple iPhone.

This may not sound that bad, right? Well, the problem with this is that the Tweet came with the label “via Twitter from iPhone.”

You got that right. Although Ferrer was trying to show his love for the new Samsung device, he was doing so from the company’s number one competitor in Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL).

This goes a long way in proving that even though Apple has competition, such as from Samsung, there are still people out there who are not going to make the change – even if they are telling people around them that they have.

While Ferrer eventually took down the Tweet, hoping to save face, it was too late. Instead, the message was posted by another Twitter user.

This makes you wonder what exactly happened. Did Samsung pay Ferrer to make this post as an advertisement? Was it a simple, honest mistake? Is Ferrer actually in the process of changing over to an Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone? We are probably never going to learn the answers to these questions.
