Apple Inc. (AAPL), Google Inc (GOOG): Dude, Where’s My Market?

The smart answer there is likely not. With the Nook beginning to decline in market share and the need for the brick-and-mortar stores declining, there’s little that Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS) can do to right the ship in the short-or long-term.

Partnering with Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is a good idea to make the Nook more attractive, but there are a lot of places consumers can go to get access to Google’s apps. There’s simply not sufficient reason for anyone to make a decision to purchase a Nook tablet over any other Android-powered tablet. That’s a sad statement for B&N, but it’s a true one.
