Accenture to Acquire SIPAL’s Integrated Product Support Business in Italy

On Tuesday, Accenture (NYSE:ACN) reached an agreement to acquire the Integrated Product Support/IPS business of SIPAL in Italy. This acquisition aims to strengthen Accenture’s engineering capabilities, particularly for clients within the Italian and broader European aerospace & defense sectors. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and its completion is subject to customary closing conditions.

SIPAL’s Italian IPS business provides engineering services that ensure the operational availability of complex products and systems, such as aerial vehicles, land vehicles, and naval vessels. The business serves major aerospace & defense organizations and is involved in several national & European defense programs. Beyond IPS, the acquired portion of SIPAL also offers services in product engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing support, and training.

Upon the close of the acquisition, approximately 250 engineering professionals from SIPAL’s IPS activities will integrate into Accenture’s Industry X, which is the company’s service focused on digital engineering and manufacturing, as well as infrastructure and capital projects. Teodoro Lio, Market Unit Lead for Accenture in Italy, stated that this acquisition reaffirms Accenture’s commitment to investing in Italian excellence and supporting strategic sectors. Since 2023, Accenture has completed 6 strategic acquisitions in Italy.
