5 States With The Most Electoral Votes

4. New York

Number of Electoral Votes: 28

New York has 28 electoral votes, 274 delegates, and 26 US Representatives. Historically, the state has been a stronghold for the Democratic Party since the Great Depression. The only deviation from this trend was in 1948 when it supported Republican candidate Thomas E. Dewey over Harry S. Truman, its then-governor. New York has consistently voted Democratic by substantial margins, with six elections showing margins of around 20%. In the 2020 election, Joe Biden won by a significant margin of 23% over Donald Trump. As such, New York is expected to remain a firmly pro-Democrat state for the 2024 elections.
