5. China

China has quickly emerged as one of the countries producing the best engineers in the world. It is all thanks to the government allocating a significant chunk of the country’s massive GDP to R&D in a bid to compete with the US. China has four cities among the best 10 cities that FDI Intelligence recommends for talent availability in electronics engineering. These include Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. 

In terms of leading universities for high-quality engineering education, Tsinghua University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences rank among the top ones in the country. China also had a 25% share in the global Knowledge and Technology Intensive (KTI) industries’ output in 2019.

Germany’s top institutes, in terms of engineering, are Helmholtz Association, Fraunhofer Society and the Technical University of Munich.

3. Switzerland
