5. New Zealand

New Zealand is an island country in the Pacific Ocean. Agriculture is the backbone of the New Zealand economy, and when it comes to beef, more than half of the amount produced is exported. Almost all of the country’s beef is grass fed, which lends it lower fat and other benefits. Some of the top beef producing companies in New Zealand are Marx Foods, Broadleaf, Lumina, and Atkins Ranch. Frozen beef formed the bulk of its beef exports in 2021, as fresh beef was worth $375 million. The U.S. was the largest frozen beef importer, with 23.3% of the exports headed to America.

The Republic of India, or simply India, is one of the world’s most populous countries. Beef has a special – and often violent – place in India, as its consumption is forbidden in Hinduism. However, this hasn’t stopped India from becoming the world’s fourth largest frozen beef exporter with $2.9 billion of exports in 2021 with the largest export destination being Egypt. Some large beef exporters are Al-hamd Food Products Pvt Ltd, Mirha Exports Pvt Ltd., and HMA Agro Industries PVT Ltd.

3. Commonwealth of Australia

The Commonwealth of Australia is the largest country in the Australian continent. Beef is one of the largest agricultural industries in the country, and Australia also has the world’s largest cattle station – the Anna Creek Station in South Australia. Like in New Zealand, most of the Australian cattle is also grass fed. One of Australia’s largest beef companies is the North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCO) with thousands of animals in its herd. Alongside $4.1 billion of frozen beef, the country also exported $2.9 billion of fresh beef in 2021. Its largest trading partner was China.

The United States of America, or simply the U.S., is the world’s largest economy and one of the most developed countries in the world. At the same time, America also sells the most frozen beef apart from Brazil. Alongside $4.5 billion of frozen beef exports, the U.S. also exported $4.7 billion of fresh beef in 2021. America’s two largest beef importers were South Korea and China. The country’s largest beef companies are Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN), National Beef Packing Company, LLC, JBS USA Holdings, Inc., and Cargill.

The Federative Republic of Brazil is a Latin and Central American country. It relies on natural resources and agricultural products for most of its exports, but at the same time, also has a strong industrial and technological base. Some famous Brazilian beef cuts are Fraldinha, Alcatra, and Cupim. Brazil’s JBS S.A. (OTCMKTS:JBSAY) is one of the largest beef companies in the world, with subsidiaries in major markets such as the U.S. and Canada. After JBS, the second largest Brazilian beef company is Marfrig Global Foods S.A. (OTCMKTS:MRRTY). Frozen beef exports were the dominant bovine exports in 2021, with fresh beef clocking in $996 million and making Brazil the tenth largest exporter instead.
