Ball Corporation is one of the largest aluminum packaging manufacturers in the world, that caters to beverage, aerosol, and household care industries among others. It also builds aerospace technology for the government as well as for commercial purposes, and played a key role in producing James Webb Telescope. To reduce its environmental impact, the company has announced its plan to reduce its emission of greenhouse gas by 55% by 2030.

This Texas-based company produces and packages consumer products and surgical instruments that are supplied in more than 175 countries. The company has set a sustainability target to make all of its packagings either reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2025. It also aims to halve its reliance on plastic as a raw material by 2030. 

3. International Paper Company (NYSE:IP)

International Paper Company manufactures packaging solutions out of pulp and paper for e-commerce, food and beverage, grocery and retail, and personal care industries. Its products help protect goods while also promoting the brand label of the manufacturer. International Paper’s sustainability goals include creating healthy and abundant forests and relying on renewable solutions for production. 

2. WestRock Company (NYSE:WRK)

2022 Revenue: $21.22 billion

WestRock is a packaging company that specializes in the manufacture of paperboard and containerboard products for beauty and personal care, foodservice, healthcare, electronics, and home and garden industries among others. It depends largely on sustainable business practices such as using energy from renewable sources for 63% of its operations, and procuring 7.3 million tonnes of its material from recycling.

3M Company manufactures packaging solutions, equipment, and accessories for various industries including food and beverage, automotive, electronics, and healthcare. In order to reduce its harmful impact on the environment and human health, the company has decided to cease its production of PFAs, which generated a sales revenue of $1.3 billion for the company every year.
