20 Most Fit Countries in the World

In this article, we will look into the 20 most fit countries in the world. If you want to skip our detailed analysis, you can go directly to the 5 Most Fit Countries in the World.

According to the WHO, the worldwide prevalence of obesity and overweight tripled between 1975 and 2016. While some countries proved to be fit, with a significant portion of their population exhibiting normal weight, a substantial portion of the world’s population still struggles with the repercussions of being overweight and underweight.

Obesity has become a worldwide issue, with over 1.9 billion adults classified as overweight or obese in 2016. On the other hand, a staggering 462 million adults were reported to be underweight in 2016.  These alarming statistics emphasize the burgeoning role of the health and wellness industry in promoting fitness and addressing concerns such as obesity and malnutrition worldwide.

Health and Wellness Industry

According to a report by Precedence Research, the global health and wellness market was worth $5.24 trillion in 2022. The market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.5%  from 2023 to 2032 and reach $8.95 trillion in 2032. The growth is driven by rising consumer spending on health and wellness products and services. Some of the factors influencing the growth include the burden of physical and mental diseases, rising personal disposable income, increased awareness regarding health and wellness, government expenditure on healthcare infrastructure, growing demand for healthy products, increased awareness of personal hygiene, sedentary lifestyles, and rising prevalence of chronic diseases. The integration of technology into the health and wellness market has led to the advent of fitness bands, trackers, and other digital devices.

The prevalence of chronic diseases is a key market driver. These chronic diseases are usually caused due to exposure to unhealthy habits including lack of exercise, tobacco use, and unhealthy diet among others. Regular exercise and physical activity can enhance our health, physical fitness, and quality of life. It lowers the risk of mortality and chronic diseases. The health and wellness industry continuously integrates technology into its products and services to enhance the consumer experience, by providing them with top-notch services. One example is the wearable technology being developed to monitor health such as an artificial pancreas. It automatically releases insulin and monitors blood sugar levels for people with diabetes.

Aligning with the evolving demand for wearable technologies, Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) launched the Google Pixel Watch in 2022 with the integration of its top-notch technology and Fitbit’s best health and fitness features. On October 7, the company launched a new model of the watch, the Google Pixel Watch 2, developed with advanced and improved features. It provides faster performance and better heart rate tracking service than any other wearable on the market.

Regionally, the market was dominated by North America in 2022. North America is projected to sustain its dominance over the forecasted period. The growth is driven by multiple factors including high disposable income, improved health consciousness, and increased demand for healthy products. Asia Pacific is estimated to be the most opportunistic market with significant growth potential, driven by a growing population, rising urbanization, and rapid industrialization.

Major Players in the Industry

Some of the major companies leading the health and wellness market include Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY),  Medtronic plc (NYSE:MDT), and Garmin Ltd. (NYSE:GRMN). Let’s discuss some business updates from all of them.

On November 8, Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) announced that the FDA has approved its weight loss and management injection, Zepbound which is designed to activate hormone receptors that have been proven to be effective for obesity treatment. The drug was studied in two clinical trials. Both trials exhibited positive results, with people taking Zepbound losing a significant amount of weight. Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY) will make the injection available by the end of 2023 in the US and it will be sold for $1,059.87.

Garmin Ltd. (NYSE:GRMN) is a leading company that specializes in health and fitness technology. On October 17, Garmin Ltd. (NYSE:GRMN) announced the expansion of its ECG app to the epix Pro series, fēnix 7 Pro series, the Venu 3 series, and tactix 7 – AMOLED Edition smartwatches. The app was initially launched in January 2023. It allows users to record their heart rhythms and enables them to check for signs of arterial fibrillation. The ECG app can help customers make informed decisions about their health and fitness goals and identify any potential problems early on.

Lack of physical activity can lead to obesity which in turn can strain the heart and lead to potential damage to blood vessels, contributing to elevated blood pressure. Medtronic plc (NYSE:MDT) is a leading medical devices company working to solve this problem. On October 24, Medtronic plc (NYSE:MDT) announced that the Medtronic Symplicity Spyral renal denervation system has been approved by the FDA in the US. The renal denervation system utilizes radio frequency to control overactive nerves in the kidney and also help lower blood pressure. The manufacturing of the BP control device is already underway for distribution in the US.

Now, that we have talked about the health and wellness industry and discussed the prominent companies in the market, let’s have a look at the 20 most fit countries in the world.

20 Most Fit Countries in the World

Methodology

To rank the 20 most fit countries in the world, we utilized life expectancy, the prevalence of the overweight population, and the prevalence of the underweight population. We sourced our life expectancy data from the World Bank and our BMI distribution (prevalence of underweight and overweight) data from the World Health Organization.

First, we sorted our list on the basis of life expectancy, recognizing the positive correlation between fitness prevalence in the country and its life expectancy. Countries with a higher life expectancy tend to be more fit as compared to the ones with a lower life expectancy. This resulted in an initial list of around 80 countries. Then, we employed the BMI distribution indicators to refine our list. We then calculated the total unfit population by summing the underweight and overweight prevalence in each country. Finally, we ranked the countries in descending order of the total percentage of unfit population.

AI, Tariffs, Nuclear Power: One Undervalued Stock Connects ALL the Dots (Before It Explodes!)

Artificial intelligence is the greatest investment opportunity of our lifetime. The time to invest in groundbreaking AI is now, and this stock is a steal!

AI is eating the world—and the machines behind it are ravenous.

Each ChatGPT query, each model update, each robotic breakthrough consumes massive amounts of energy. In fact, AI is already pushing global power grids to the brink.

Wall Street is pouring hundreds of billions into artificial intelligence—training smarter chatbots, automating industries, and building the digital future. But there’s one urgent question few are asking:

Where will all of that energy come from?

AI is the most electricity-hungry technology ever invented. Each data center powering large language models like ChatGPT consumes as much energy as a small city. And it’s about to get worse.

Even Sam Altman, the founder of OpenAI, issued a stark warning:

“The future of AI depends on an energy breakthrough.”

Elon Musk was even more blunt:

“AI will run out of electricity by next year.”

As the world chases faster, smarter machines, a hidden crisis is emerging behind the scenes. Power grids are strained. Electricity prices are rising. Utilities are scrambling to expand capacity.

And that’s where the real opportunity lies…

One little-known company—almost entirely overlooked by most AI investors—could be the ultimate backdoor play. It’s not a chipmaker. It’s not a cloud platform. But it might be the most important AI stock in the US owns critical energy infrastructure assets positioned to feed the coming AI energy spike.

As demand from AI data centers explodes, this company is gearing up to profit from the most valuable commodity in the digital age: electricity.

The “Toll Booth” Operator of the AI Energy Boom

  • It owns critical nuclear energy infrastructure assets, positioning it at the heart of America’s next-generation power strategy.
  • It’s one of the only global companies capable of executing large-scale, complex EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) projects across oil, gas, renewable fuels, and industrial infrastructure.
  • It plays a pivotal role in U.S. LNG exportation—a sector about to explode under President Trump’s renewed “America First” energy doctrine.

Trump has made it clear: Europe and U.S. allies must buy American LNG.

And our company sits in the toll booth—collecting fees on every drop exported.

But that’s not all…

As Trump’s proposed tariffs push American manufacturers to bring their operations back home, this company will be first in line to rebuild, retrofit, and reengineer those facilities.

AI. Energy. Tariffs. Onshoring. This One Company Ties It All Together.

While the world is distracted by flashy AI tickers, a few smart investors are quietly scooping up shares of the one company powering it all from behind the scenes.

AI needs energy. Energy needs infrastructure.

And infrastructure needs a builder with experience, scale, and execution.

This company has its finger in every pie—and Wall Street is just starting to notice.

Wall Street is noticing this company also because it is quietly riding all of these tailwinds—without the sky-high valuation.

While most energy and utility firms are buried under mountains of debt and coughing up hefty interest payments just to appease bondholders…

This company is completely debt-free.

In fact, it’s sitting on a war chest of cash—equal to nearly one-third of its entire market cap.

It also owns a huge equity stake in another red-hot AI play, giving investors indirect exposure to multiple AI growth engines without paying a premium.

And here’s what the smart money has started whispering…

The Hedge Fund Secret That’s Starting to Leak Out

This stock is so off-the-radar, so absurdly undervalued, that some of the most secretive hedge fund managers in the world have begun pitching it at closed-door investment summits.

They’re sharing it quietly, away from the cameras, to rooms full of ultra-wealthy clients.

Why? Because excluding cash and investments, this company is trading at less than 7 times earnings.

And that’s for a business tied to:

  • The AI infrastructure supercycle
  • The onshoring boom driven by Trump-era tariffs
  • A surge in U.S. LNG exports
  • And a unique footprint in nuclear energy—the future of clean, reliable power

You simply won’t find another AI and energy stock this cheap… with this much upside.

This isn’t a hype stock. It’s not riding on hope.

It’s delivering real cash flows, owns critical infrastructure, and holds stakes in other major growth stories.

This is your chance to get in before the rockets take off!

Disruption is the New Name of the Game: Let’s face it, complacency breeds stagnation.

AI is the ultimate disruptor, and it’s shaking the foundations of traditional industries.

The companies that embrace AI will thrive, while the dinosaurs clinging to outdated methods will be left in the dust.

As an investor, you want to be on the side of the winners, and AI is the winning ticket.
