Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (WYN), Google Inc (GOOG) & The Rest of Clough Capital’s Favorites

Charles Clough is the manager of Clough Capital Partners, a hedge fund that recently filed its 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Let’s take a look at its top stock picks:

In first is Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE:WYN), represented in Clough Capital’s 13F portfolio by a $108 million stake, which contains almost 1.9 million shares.

During the quarter, the position in Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE:WYN) held by Clough Capital increased by 1.4 million shares. Since the beginning of the year, Wyndham’s stock has increased by over 11%, while the company’s forward P/E and PEG ratios amount to 14x and 1.0 respectively.

We should also mention that aside from Clough’s hedge fund, a couple of other notable names from the hedge fund universe were bullish on Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE:WYN), such as John Griffin’s Blue Ridge Capital, Stephen Mandell’s Lone Pine Capital, among others.

In the second and third positions are Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) and Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C). At the end of June, Clough Capital held 119,834 shares of Google, up by 8,680 shares over the quarter, the value of the stake amounting to $105.5 million. With a forward P/E of 16.7x and a PEG ratio of about 1.8, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s stock has a year-to-date return of more than 21.4%. Citigroup’s stake in the hedge fund’s equity portfolio involves about 2.2 million shares and is worth over $103.3 million, a decrease of 267,407 compared with the end of March. The stock price of Citigroup increased by about 28.3% since the beginning of the year.

Aside from the aforementioned companies, we should mention a couple of other important stakes from the most recent 13F filing of Charles Clough’s hedge fund. As follows, the hedge fund disclosed ownership of about 1.3 million shares of eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY), with the stake almost doubling compared with the previous amount, advancing by 633,200 shares. In Bank of America Corp (NYSE:BAC), Clough Capital’s stake is valued at $63.9 million, and involves almost 5 million shares, down by some 1.6 million shares over the quarter.

In total, the equity portfolio of Clough Capital Partners has a market value of almost $3.0 million, advancing from the previous quarter’s value of $2.7 billion. The hedge fund added 57 new positions to its equity portfolio during the second quarter, and dumped 54 positions. On the whole, the second-quarter 13F filing of Clough Capital contains almost 200 positions.
